Dahlia Wizard of Oz, a gem among the Dahlia varieties, belongs to the pompon dahlias as this small, round, light pink dahlia reminds you of the festive pompoms. Dahlia Wizard of Oz flowers from July to November. She can reach a height of 90 centimetres and produces about 2 to 3 flowers per stem, making her the perfect flower for your bouquet. The numerous petals are soft pink in the centre, but further towards the edge of the petals, they become lighter, almost white. No petal remains unseen, making for an almost too perfectly shaped flower. In the centre, she sometimes turns a soft yellow, and in combination with the soft pink, she’s a match for pastel lovers.

The pompon dahlias are named after the pom poms used by cheerleaders, as they resemble them with their spherical flowers. The leaves are rolled up like funnels. The pompon variety is smaller and rounder than the ball dahlias. The diameter of this species is 5-8 centimetres.
